A CORONER investigating the shooting of 19-year-old Seamus Bradley in Derry 45 years ago has appealed for information.

An inquest into Mr Bradley's death on 31 July 1972 will begin at Derry courthouse on December 11.

The teenage labourer was shot in the leg and foot during Operation Motorman - a major British army operation - in the Creggan area.

He later died from his injuries.

The coroner made a particular appeal to anyone who was close to Bishop’s Field or the Creggan shops at the time of the killing to get in contact.

A witness surgery will be held at the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry between 10am and 7pm on October 12.
