Ardoyne community grieves after sudden death of Brian Hagans (25)

FAMILY and friends have been paying tribute to a north Belfast man, known as "the soul of the party", whose death aged 25 has shocked and saddened his community.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made for Brian Hagans, from Ardoyne who died on Sunday.

His grieving sister Rachael posted a picture of them together on her Facebook page, describing him as her "best friend".

A friend wrote on the social networking site that he was "trying to come to terms with another young life taken from us having heard the heartbreaking news last night... a dark cloud over our community today. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends.

Another said a "funny kind person has gone from our lives..community will miss you".

He was well known in the area where he had grown up and now worked for Ardoyne Youth Enterprises, a youth and community development organisation operating in the Ardoyne, Oldpark and Marrowbone areas in the north of the city.

He is survived by parents Michelle and Jim, sister Rachael and brother Keelan.
