AN anti-DUP placard at Saturday's Pride parade in Belfast should be investigated by police, a DUP MLA has said.

South Down MLA Jim Wells said he made a statement to police in Newry yesterday about the 'F**k the DUP' placard displayed during the parade.

"I told the police that I regarded the placard as a hate crime and grossly offensive," he said.

"It was also in my view totally against the legislation controlling parades in Northern Ireland."
