SuperCupNI match ends early after spectator takes ill

A SuperCupNI match featuring Manchester United was called off early last night after a spectator took ill in the stands.

The clash with Chilean side Colina in Portstewart was brought to a premature end after a member of the public is believed to have suffered an epileptic fit.

As medics made their way to the Seahaven ground, the two big hearted football teams agreed to end the game early to allow ambulance crews easier access to the stricken spectator.

The match was called off around seven minutes from time.

The Junior section clash had marked Manchester United's return to competitive action in the SuperCupNI.

The game finished with Manchester United winning 3-0 following two goals by Teden Mengi with Anthony Elanga also finding the net.
