A FARMER who died following an accident in Co Fermanagh has been named locally as Gerry Donohoe.

Mr Donohoe (48), from Dernagore, Teemore, was injured on the family farm on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood he was hurt in an accident involving a tractor. He was taken to the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen but died on Friday morning.

The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the accident.

"Our sympathies are with the family at this most difficult time," a spokesman said.

Mr Donohoe is survived by his parents Eugene and Mary, sister Jennifer and brother Thomas.

His funeral Mass was celebrated at St Mary's Church, Teemore, yesterday.

Ulster Unionist councillor Alex Baird extended his sympathies to the man's family.

"While I didn't know him personally I'd like to send my thoughts and prayers to his family at this very sad time," he said.
