A 48-year-old man has been charged with drug offences in connection with the sudden death of a woman in Co Armagh.

A woman in her 30s was found dead at a house in Orior Park in Bessbrook last Tuesday.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

She has been named locally as Sonia McDonagh. It is believed she had been living in Dundalk, but her family are from the Bessbrook area.

Detectives investigating the death arrested a man on Friday and he was later charged with being concerned in the supply of a class A controlled drug and possession of a class B drug.

He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday March 22.

Police said a total of £2,000 in cash was seized and items taken away for examination following a related search.
