Who is GAA president Aogán Ó Fearghaíl?
AOGÁN Ó Fearghaíl was elected 38th president of the GAA in 2014, becoming the seventh holder of the post from Ulster and the first from Co Cavan.
A fluent Irish speaker, he was heavily involved in his club Drumgoon Éire Óg near Cootehill for decades before working at county, provincial and national level.
The Dernakesh primary school principal, who is in his mid-fifties, had previously served as Ulster Council president from 2010 to 2013.
He has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Ulster Council's outreach and cross-community schemes.
He also received praise as a GAA spokesman following the murder of association member and PSNI officer Ronan Kerr in 2011.
When he was elected, Mr Ó Fearghaíl said that the four 'Fs' would inform his presidency – fixtures, facilities, finance and family.
