Burglars armed with knives target home in south Belfast

TWO young men have escaped unharmed after a pair of knife-wielding burglars broke into their home in the student area of south Belfast.

The aggravated burglary happened at about 5.50am on Sunday in the Stranmillis Gardens area of the city.

Two men armed with knives entered the house and made off with mobile phones, laptops, tablets, a set of car keys and a wallet.

The two residents, both aged 22, were not injured in the incident.

Police urged anyone with information to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
