Appeal after sudden death of Wilfred Holmes (45) on Belfast's Donegall Street

THE sudden death of 45-year-old man in north Belfast is being investigated by police.

Wilfred Holmes, who was known as Wilfie, was originally from Ballymoney, Co Antrim, but had been living in Belfast.

His body was found on Donegall Street at about 11.30pm on Wednesday.

Police have now appealed for help in tracing Mr Holmes' last movements.

He had been in Derry earlier on Wednesday before travelling back to Belfast.

He was last seen in the Royal Avenue/High Street area of the city at about 6.30pm.

Mr Holmes was about 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and dark short brown hair.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
