The 2016 Belfast Pride Festival will feature more than 80 events over 10 days that aim to showcase the creativity, history and culture of Belfast's LGBT community.

The theme for this year's festival is 'We Are One.' Seán Ó'Néill, chair of Belfast Pride, said the theme "reflects the strength that comes from a diverse movement."

"The Belfast Pride parade is our biggest platform of the year to make a stand - the loss of life in Orlando caused a lot of pain but gave many people a new resolve to challenge prejudice and stand up for Equality, a lasting tribute to all those who have been victims of hate," he said.

"This is not a time to stand on the pavement as the parade goes by, join in with pride and get to as many events as you can during the festival."
