Man charged with sexual assault of teenage boy in Falls Park

A 39-year-old man is to appear before Belfast Magistrates court this morning, charged with a number of sexual offences. 

Detective Inspector Zoe McKee said: "The charges are in connection with a sexual assault on a male in the Falls Park area of west Belfast in the early hours of Saturday 16th July."

The 16-year-old boy was believed to have been walking home to the Turf Lodge area when he was attacked by a man close to Falls Park.

The teenager managed to break free and make his way home. Police were called and items removed for forensic examination.

Police thanked the community for their help in the investigation and have appealed for further information.
