Relatives and survivors of Loughinisland attack gather to watch Republic's Euro 2016 match
RELATIVES of those killed in the Loughinisland atrocity last night gathered in the Co Down village pub where the attack happened.
A survivor of the attack and some relatives of those who died came together in the Heights Bar to watch the Republic take on Italy in the European Championships.
The remembered the six Catholic men murdered in the pub as they watched the same two teams play in the 1994 World Cup.
Masked gunmen burst into the packed Heights Bar on June 18 1994 and fired at customers watching Ireland play Italy in the World Cup.
Aidan O'Toole, who survived the attack on his family bar, last week had said those affected by the tragedy would come together to watch the Republic games during Euro 2016.
He said relatives of those who died and were injured still meet to watch Ireland play in big tournaments as a way of supporting each other.
