CO DOWN golfer Rory McIlroy and his friend, One Direction star Niall Horan were among the fans at Ulster rugby's match against Leinster in Dublin tonight.

Ulster fan McIlroy and Leinster fan Horan watched the match a few hours after the golfer played his second round at the Irish Open at the K Club in Co Kildare today.

The 27-year-old Holywood star, whose children's charity the Rory Foundation is hosting the tournament, is one shot off the lead.

Meanwhile, 32 children from Scoil Bhride National School in Straffan, Co Kildare, have donated €700 of their communion money to the Rory Foundation.

Barry Funston, chief executive of the Rory Foundation said McIlroy was thrilled by the donation.

"I think it's a fantastic idea and they are a credit to their parents. I'm delighted to accept their donation on behalf of the Rory Foundation," he said.
