A CASH machine was stolen from a petrol station in an overnight raid in Bushmills, Co Antrim.

Thieves gained access to the Priestland Road premises by forcing the shutters and completely removing the door.

The ATM was taken and substantial damage caused to the interior of the shop.

Police believe the burglary happened shortly before 2am yesterday.

They urged anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen a vehicle near the petrol station to phone detectives on the non-emergency number 101.
