MORE than 50 firefighters are dealing with a blaze on board a ship at Lisahally Port outside Derry.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised just before 7am on Tuesday.

It is believed the fire broke out in one of the cabins.

Fire crews from the city and specialist teams from Belfast have been working to bring the fire under control.

Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.

Fire Service group commander Keith Black said they are working closely with the port authority.
