12 deaths, 1,848 new cases of Covid-19

Twelve more people have died with Covid-19 and a further 1,848 new cases have been diagnosed.

There are 427 people in hospital who have tested positive for Covid-19, of whom 33 are in intensive care. All but seven of those people in ICU are being ventilated. Hospitals have more patients than beds and 233 people are awaiting admission. There are 11 free ICU beds in Northern Ireland.

The infection rate across the north is 575 with Mid-Ulster council area recording the highest rate (851.7), followed by Causeway Coast and Glens (794.7) with Derry City and Strabane recording the lowest (415.1).

The death toll stands at 2,814. There are outbreaks in 33 care homes. Children aged 10 to 14 continue to account for the highest number of new cases (20%).
