Tributes to man found dead on rocks at Portstewart

THE funeral of a man whose body was found on rocks in Portstewart on Sunday will take place today.

Adam Wilson from Ballymoney, Co Antrim was discovered close to the town's promenade at around 11.15am.

He was the cousin of Ballymoney Ulster Unionist councillor Darryl Wilson.

Writing on social media, Mr Wilson said the entire family circle "are still trying to come to terms with this sudden and devastating loss".

He added: "Adam will always be in our hearts, in our hearts he will remain alive."

The PSNI have confirmed that following the results of a post-mortem examination they are not treating the death as suspicious.

Mr Wilson's funeral will be held at his home at Eastburn Crescent at 1.30pm.

Portrush UUP councillor, Alderman Norman Hillis extended his sympathy to the friends and family of Mr Wilson.

He said: "It is a very sad time for them."

Other tributes were also paid on social media where Mr Wilson was described as a "a true gentleman" and "the kindest guy".
