A MOTHER-of-one killed along with a friend in a Co Donegal car crash will be laid to rest after a funeral service today.

Shiva Devine (20) of The Acres in Belleek, Co Fermanagh, died alongside Conall McAleer in a collision in the Eastend area of Bundoran, Co Donegal, in the early hours of Sunday.

Three of their friends were injured in the crash and a sixth man handed himself into gardai later that morning.

He was later released and a file will be prepared for the Republic's Director of Public Prosecutions.

One of the friends, named locally as 25-year-old mother-of-one Rachel Elliot from Ballinamallard, Co Fermanagh, was reported to have been transferred to Beaumount Hospital in Dublin where she is understood to be in a critical condition.

The former St Mary's College, Irvinestown, pupil is said to have suffered back injuries in the crash.

Requiem Mass for Ms Devine will take place at 11am in St Brigid's Church, Ballintra, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Tomorrow, Mr McAleer will be laid to rest in his native Fermanagh.

His body is being waked privately at his home on Boa Island Road in Kesh this evening.

Requiem Mass will be held in St Joseph's Church, Ederney, at noon tomorrow followed by interment in Edenclaw Cemetery.

His family have asked that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Macmillan.

Friends were taking to social media yesterday to pay tribute, with Ms Devine described as "the nicest girl I had the pleasure of knowing", "down to earth" and a "sweet girl loved by a lot".
