Thunderstorms forecast amid reports of Derry flash floods

HEAVY showers and thunderstorms have been forecast for across Northern Ireland tomorrow amid reports of flash floods in Derry tonight.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain between 11am and 9pm tomorrow - putting an end to the recent spell of good weather.

Scotland and the eastern coast of England are also likely to be hit by bad weather.

There were reports of heavy rain across the north west of Ireland tonight. Flooding was reported on the A2 Clooney Road in Derry, affecting traffic between the city airport and Limavady.

Met Eireann forecast further heavy showers tomorrow afternoon but these are due to die out by tomorrow night.

Highs of 18 to 22 degrees have also been predicted.
