A loudspeaker yesterday broadcast the funeral of 10-year-old Ryan Busa from his Co Antrim home to hundreds of mourners gathered outside.

The schoolboy died in Glengormley on Sunday following a reported attack by the family's Alsatian dog.

He was taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children but his life could not be saved.

An open invitation was extended on social media by the family of the Ashgrove Primary School pupil to the service at his Queens Avenue house.

It took place at 1pm, with burial at Carnmoney cemeterr. Mourners then joined his grieving family at a local restaurant.

The family have thanked people for their "kindness and support", saying good wishes had come from across Northern Ireland and the Slovakian community.

"Ryan's death was a devastating accident and his death has brought a lot of people together," they said.
