TWO communities have been left in shock following three suspected drug-related deaths over the weekend.

Police are investigating the death of 19-year-old Emma Doogan, who was found in a property in the Meelmore Drive area of Omagh of Co Tyrone on Saturday afternoon.

A 24-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in the wake of her death, is due to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates Court today charged with a number of drug-related offences.

Friends and classmates of Ms Doogan, a former pupil at Sacred Heart College in Omagh, who also has links to Ballyshannon in Co Donegal, took to social media to express their shock at her death.

"You were the kindest and bubbly girl I ever met in my life and you always seem to put a smile in anyone's face," one friend wrote.

"You were an absolute star, you never failed to put a smile on my face or make me laugh, you were a genuine, loving person," said another.

SDLP MLA for West Tyrone Daniel McCrossan tweeted: "Devastation and heartbreak rips through another family. A terrible and tragic loss of a 19 year-old woman with her entire life ahead of her."

Marty McColgan, a Sinn Féin councillor for the area, said he was shocked to learn of Ms Doogan's death.

"No matter what the circumstances, this is an awful tragedy and an awful waste of a young life," he said.

Det Con Una McKenna appealed to anyone who has any information in relation to illegal drugs, to contact police.

"We know drugs are a real concern for local communities and we understand the misery they can cause to communities, families and to those who get involved in taking them," she said.

"We will continue to disrupt and arrest those involved in the sale and supply of drugs, bring individuals before the courts and work with communities and partner agencies to reduce the threat of harmful and illegal activity. "

Meanwhile police are investigating after the bodies of two men aged 43 and 51 were found at a property in Ballymena yesterday morning.
