DRUMMERS, stilt-walkers and belly dancers were among those who took part in a carnival as part of Féile an Phobail in west Belfast.

The festival, now in its 29th year, hosted the parade which began in Dunville Park yesterday afternoon.

Thousands of people attended the carnival, which this year was based on a theme of 'rights and revelry'.

Huge papier-mache costumes and effigies were popular, including those of US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Spot prizes were awarded, including for best community group and best community float.

Féile continues until August 14 and includes gigs by UB40 in Falls Park on Friday and The Wolfe Tones on Sunday.

Other highlights include a debate on the Good Friday Agreement tonight, a discussion about the Basque peace process and walking tours of Milltown and City cemeteries.
