A WOMAN has told how she may now leave her west Belfast home after vandals singled out her car and poured paint over it.

Stacie McNerney said she no longer feels safe at her house in St Mary's Gardens in Beechmount, off the Falls Road, which she shares with her seven-year-old daughter.

The 30-year-old hairdresser, who is four-months pregnant, learned of the attack on her black Audi A1 Sport when a neighbour phoned her at around 4.50am yesterday.

Ms McNerney said she was "devastated" by the damage to the car, which she has owned for only two months.

"When I went outside, it was covered in white paint," she said.

"It was everywhere, all over the place. I was just shocked. It was as if they just poured tins of it over".

The mother-of-one said she could think of no reason why she was singled out.

"I just go to work and come home again," she said.

"It is just devastating. I don't even really bother with anyone."

Ms McNerney said she no longer felt safe living in the area.

"I don't even want to stay. I don't want to be here. I just don't feel safe. I don't think I could stay here".

The attack comes days after police highlighted incidents of anti-social behaviour in west Belfast and Dunmurry.

Officers said large numbers of young people, including "under-age children" had been gathering in the Falls Park.

Police said they had also been called to the Royal Victoria Hospital where a group of had been reported to be "on the roof of the Children's Hospital".

"A facility that cares for terminally ill children. Children who do not need to see these wastes of space breaking windows and urinating in public. We have CCTV of this bunch, and we will be knocking your doors soon enough. Indecent exposure and criminal damage to be precise", the PSNI posted on social media.

Police said they had also been called to Dunmurry where groups of young people had been "causing a nuisance and disturbing normal members of the public".

As well as smashing glass on the road, some young people were also seen to be walking over train tracks as trains were passing at the local halt.

Police said two teenagers had been arrested.
