A YOUNG mother-of-two who died in hospital a week after suffering an epileptic seizure has been buried.

Louise McIlwaine (30) died early on Friday after she collapsed following a seizure outside her parents' west Belfast home the previous week.

The hairdresser and beauty therapist had just said goodbye to her two little boys Tom (9) and Martin (6) when she took ill.

Family and friends turned out for Requiem Mass at St Oliver Plunkett Church in Lenadoon on Monday, with burial afterwards in Milltown Cemetery.

Her death came four years after she managed to recover from heart and brain surgery following a serious infection.

Her father Martin McIlwaine told The Irish News last week she was "one of those special, special wee girls".

"A special person who loved life and was a character in life. She would have given somebody her last penny. She would have run to the end of the world for somebody," he said.

"She was the most loving, caring mother anybody could wish for. I've told the kids she's their star up in the sky."
