A MAN in his twenties has died after he was involved in a single vehicle road traffic collision in Belfast this morning.

Police said the collision occurred at York Street in the city, close to Rite Price, at around 11.40am.

The man who died was the driver of a silver coloured Toyota Supra car.

PSNI Inspector McCullough appealed for anyone who was travelling on York Street this morning and who witnessed the collision to contact local officers in Tennent Street or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 429 of 11/11/16.

Ulster Unionist councillor David Browne said he was stunned to hear of the fatal crash.

"It's a tragedy and my sympathies and thoughts are with his family," he said. "It does show that when people have been talking about reducing speed limits to 20 mph you can see why."
