THE sudden death of a Scottish man in north Antrim is being investigated by police.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out after the man, understood to have been in his forties, died after collapsing at a house in Woodvale Park in Bushmills on Sunday.

He is thought to have been attending a party when he collapsed.

It is understood he had been working in the area.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

North Antrim DUP assembly member Mervyn Storey said the death had "sent shockwaves throughout the community over the weekend".

"It is a very sad time for those who knew him and of course his family, who are now mourning his loss," he said.

"I express my deepest sympathies to the man's family. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time."
