A CLOTHING store in Belfast city centre has said it is "lost for words" after being ram-raided for a second time.

A white Volkswagen Passat, which had been stolen in Bangor, was driven into the shutter of the Brazil shop at Wellington Place at around 3.30am yesterday.

While the shutter remained intact, the window of the store was smashed. An electric junction box on the street was also damaged.

Nothing was stolen from the shop.

The stolen car was later found on fire in the Roumania Rise area of west Belfast.

In a Facebook post, Rio Brazil Belfast said its Wellington Place store had been "targeted again by ram-raiders. The second time in two weeks".

"You will be glad to hear our newly extended & refurbished men's store (Rio) was not damaged and we will be open for business as usual, with some minor delays in our Brazil store. We would love to see you if you are in town today."

Police have appealed for information about the attack, which came a week after a boutique on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was targeted by ram-raiders.

A car taken during a burglary last Friday night in Holywood, Co Down was driven through the window of Emporio in the early hours of Saturday. Stock was stolen in the raid.

A number of arrests were made.
