WINDOWS have been smashed on a bus travelling along an interface in north Belfast by youths throwing stones.

Police have appealed for information after a Metro 12B service, which had departed from Ballysillan, was attacked as it travelled down the Oldpark Road towards the city centre at around 7.40pm on Tuesday night.

Youths threw stones at the bus, causing two windows to be broken although there were no major injuries.

A Translink spokeswoman said the company was offering a £1,000 cash reward for anyone willing to go to court "to give evidence that helps to secure a conviction."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
