Facebook is allowing users to share their collections with friends for the first time, which could come in handy ahead of Christmas to give others an idea of what gifts they would like.

The social network already allows people to curate everything from posts and pages, to adverts and videos, but the update means users can share what they bookmark with friends and family.

With mere weeks to go until Christmas, the new approach could serve as a ideal way for people to find out exactly what you would like under the tree this year.

Collection Sharing: Holiday ShoppingPosted by Facebook on Monday, December 3, 2018

“If you create a collection of products – a holiday wish list of sorts – you can share it with a group of hand-selected family members on Facebook to give them ideas of what gifts you’d love to receive for the holidays,” Facebook said.

“Or if you’re planning a holiday party with friends, you can create a collection called ‘holiday recipes’ and share it with the rest of the group. Those invited can add holiday recipes they’ve discovered on Facebook and save in the shared collection.”

Facebook is rolling out the expanded collections feature to users over the next week.
