iOS 12 is rolling out to iPhone and iPad users, but one of its less celebrated new features has been capturing the imagination of users on Twitter.
The new Measure app allows users to deploy augmented reality and the iPhone camera to measure objects around them.
It doesn’t sound like the most mesmerising of features, but many are already quite taken with it, particularly when it comes to measuring people and pets.

My review of Measure, the new app in iOS 12:
Surprisingly it actually does seem to work to measure cat length, or would if mine would hold still. Five stars.

Others were just happy to have the tool in their lives.
I’m only downloading iOS 12 for the measure feature tbh My schematics are about to be pristine 👌🏻

The Measure app in iOS 12 is just so accurate. Tried it on a ruler and it works like a charm.

The iOS 12 update also includes new Animoji and introduces personalised Memoji, as well as performance improvements and other features, but an AR measuring tool is all everyone really wanted, apparently.
