Nintendo has confirmed the Nintendo Classic Mini NES will go back on sale in the UK at the end of June.

Initially launched in late 2016, the miniature console is a scaled down replica of the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) from the late 1980s, complete with a range of classic games built in.

The console’s limited stock quickly sold out as the system proved a huge hit, and has remained a much sought-after item on e-commerce sites such as Amazon and eBay ever since.

Nintendo has now confirmed it will begin selling a new batch of NES Classic Mini systems on June 29.

Among the 30 games on the system are the original Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda.

The device’s original success led Nintendo to release a SNES Classic Mini – again in limited quantities – at the end of 2017 as a follow-up to the NES.

The trend of miniature consoles has struck a chord, with Sega since announcing that it will launch a Mega Drive Mini later this year. For now though, that device has only been confirmed for Japan.
