But with the announcement that Rockstar Games is looking for game testers it might be time to bin those assumptions, which is excellent news for the gamers out there.

The company behind the likes of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne is looking for “passionate, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals” to join their testing teams in Edinburgh and Lincoln.

Successful candidates will be expected to test games and applications across various platforms, find and report bugs, and provide clear and concise critical analysis.

An excellent gaming ability is expected, as is a passion for them.
