Richard Dreyfuss has denied claims by a TV writer that he exposed himself to her in the 80s.

Jessica Teich, an LA writer, accused Dreyfuss of making overt and lewd comments over the course of several years after they met at a theatre where she worked.

Teich also claimed the Jaws actor, 70, exposed his genitals to her in his studio trailer in 1987 when she was working for him on an ABC show script.

She told Vulture she decided to speak out after Dreyfuss publicly supported his son, Harry, who alleged Kevin Spacey groped his crotch when he was 18.

Dreyfuss told the same publication: “I emphatically deny ever exposing myself to Jessica Teich, whom I have considered a friend for 30 years,” adding he did flirt with her and remembered trying to kiss her as part of what he considered a “consensual seduction ritual that went on and on for many years”.

“I am horrified and bewildered to discover that it wasn’t consensual. I didn’t get it. It makes me reassess every relationship I have ever thought was playful and mutual,” he added.

The accusations come amid a sexual harassment scandal that has rocked Hollywood and the wider film industry since October when film producer Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexually harassing or assaulting several women.

He has since been accused by dozens of women, and is being investigated by police in the US and London.

House Of Cards star Spacey also faces a police investigation amid harassment and assault accusations.
