Dermot O’Leary appears to have run out of goodwill as he settles into his second stint on The Nightly Show.
The X Factor star is back to host the last week of ITV’s topical entertainment programme, after fronting it in the fourth week of the show’s run.
Viewers were full of praise for Dermot’s first week, declaring he could be the saviour of the much-maligned programme.
But the enthusiasm seems to have died off this time around, with the star even being dubbed “Dreary O’Leary”.
Watching @radioleary do his intro on The nightly show, is an absolute master class in how not to do comedy.

Dreary O'Leary back on #thenightlyshow – run out of 'celeb' hosts already or will no-one else touch this poisoned chalice?

However, some fans still insist that Dermot is the best of the celebrity hosts, who have included Davina McCall, David Walliams and Gordon Ramsay.“Trying to comprehend why everyone hates #thenightlyshow? how could you not like a show with @radioleary as the host?” one person pondered on Twitter.Dermot was joined on Wednesday’s show by impressionist and comedian Jon Culshaw and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, who proved to be a highlight among viewers.
