Veteran Liverpool midfielder James Milner has celebrated scoring a goal against Cardiff City by pretending to walk like an old man.

The unusual goal celebration came after Milner scored an 81st minute penalty in his team’s Premier League game on Sunday.

He held his back as he mimed walking slowly with the aid of a stick.

Milner had not long been on the field when he scored, having come on as a substitute for the injured Fabinho.

The former Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City man, who is 33, has been an important figure in English football for more than a decade.

Milner first broke into Leeds United’s Premier League team in the 2002/03 season.

His goal against Cardiff was his side’s second goal in a 2-0 victory.

Liverpool’s win saw them move two points clear at the top of the Premier League, although second-placed Manchester City have a game in hand.
