Nobody loves Cheerios as much as this baby elephant

Just wait until she finds out about Weetos.
Just wait until she finds out about Weetos. Just wait until she finds out about Weetos.

A baby elephant has shown itself to be very impatient when it comes to Cheerios.

The unnamed calf at Pittsburgh Zoo isn’t even three months old yet but is busy learning new things – the ability to pick up small objects with her trunk among them.

But when presented with Cheerios she figured there was a much easier option than simply using her trunk.

The calf, who’s currently teething, was born prematurely to a mother who wasn’t producing any milk and was unable to care for the baby.

But she’s been in great hands since, being cared for all hours of the day and gradually being introduced to the older elephants at the zoo.

The zoo has been documenting her time there thoroughly, showing everything from her first bath to her learning how to play, drink and lie down.

While she’s busy growing the first of the six sets of teeth she’ll have throughout her life the calf is not on exhibit, but the zoo says they’re encouraged by the progress she’s making.
