When Adebayo Akinfenwa scored for Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend his celebration received more attention than the bullet header he was celebrating, and for good reason.
Bayo, one of the football league’s most recognisable faces, produced a tribute to “legend” Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.
Possibly our favourite goal celebration of all-time! Adebayo Akinfenwa dropping the People’s Elbow

And Akinfenwa’s version of the People’s Elbow, The Rock’s finishing move, caught the eye of the People’s Champ himself.
Heart stoppin' elbow droppin'…. we'll done brotha. https://t.co/JlnVXRsN0N

That’s quite a big deal – The Rock was the highest paid actor in Hollywood in 2016, and here he is conversing with 35-year-old journeyman Akinfenwa.
It’s definitely not the first time Bayo has produced an extra celebration on the pitch, and probably won’t be the last, but following The Rock’s reaction it might just be the one he’s proudest of.
He should try for a Randy Orton response next.
Outta nowhere!
