Newcastle United’s return to the Premier League table was made all the more glorious when a late Aston Villa equaliser at Brighton ensured the Magpies won the Championship as well, rather than finishing second.
Newcastle did all they needed to do, beating Barnsley 3-0 at home, while Aston Villa’s decisive goal came in the 89th minute, only adding to the drama.

Brighton’s 1-1 draw against Villa meant that, although they will also play Premier League football next season, it’s Newcastle who take the league winners’ medals home.

And with Newcastle’s silverware, a few fans remembered a comment their controversial owner Mike Ashley made in 2015.
Having narrowly avoided relegation during the 2014/15 season, Ashley said: “We are now definitely going to win something and by the way I shan’t be selling until we do.”
is Mike Ashley selling up now we've won something?

Didn't Mike Ashley say that he would sell Newcastle Utd if they won a trophy? #NFFC

Does that statement include winning the Championship?
When Mike Ashley said he wouldn't sell NUFC until they'd won something, was he including the Championship?

Only time will tell.
