Most cycling events are filled with lycra-clad riders in colourful helmets and state-of-the-art bikes, unless of course you are at the Tweed Run in London.
In what was, yes you’ve guessed it, a tweed-themed bike ride, hundreds of dapper-looking cyclists took to the capital’s streets for a jolly old cycle.
The ninth annual Tweed Run saw riders dressed in tweed jackets and gentry clothing as they hit the streets on vintage bicycles and penny farthings.
Instead of power drinks and bottles of water, cyclists kicked of their tour with champagne toasts.
The 12-mile ride began in Clerkenwell and included many of London’s landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and the Natural History Museum.
The event finished with a closing ceremony and prizes were awarded for the best-dressed man and woman, the smartest bicycle and of course, the finest moustache.
