Watch: Man attempts world record for most press-ups done in an hour, all in the name of charity

Ed Corrie has undertaken a mammoth challenge to raise money for charity – by trying to break the world record for most push-ups done in one hour.

Unfortunately for Corrie, he fell short of the current record of 2,392, recording 2,175 push ups – but he promised to come back and beat the record by the end of the year.

This attempt was not a failure by any stretch though, as Corrie has so far raised more than £6,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis UK as part of the Bums Out Guns Out campaign.

Corrie himself suffers from Crohn’s disease – one of three types of inflammatory bowel disease which, according to the charity, affects more than 300,000 people in the UK.

His disease had left him unable to perform different types of exercise so Corrie had been keeping fit with push-ups – which helped inspire his attempt.

If you want to support Corrie and Crohn’s and Colitis UK you can donate to his Just Giving page here.
