Car park hero saves the day for BBC journalist Mandy McAuley

BBC journalist Mandy McAuley found herself in that most frustrating of situations when she realised she didn't have enough cash to pay for car parking.

The veteran reporter had parked in Bow Street Mall car park in Lisburn a few days before Christmas and discovered she was £1.50 short.

The machine wouldn't accept debit or credit cards and the queue behind her was building and building along with Mandy's stress levels as she was already running later.

Step forward a gentleman with spare change who handed it over "and then vanished".

Mandy reckons "the absolute gent" is "going to get an abundance of karma for that act of kindnes".

Here's hoping he does.
