Vauxhall gets an electric move on with Movano-e
ELECTRIC vans are becoming a whole lot more popular as their range and usability increases, with 'last mile' delivery services finding them particularly useful.
Vauxhall now has a wide range of electric vans, rounding off its line-up with the capacious Movano-e.
It is the 'L' to the size 'S' Combo-e and 'M' Vivaro-e models in Vauxhall's range.
The Movano-e gets a choice of either 37kW or 70kW battery sizes which, when combined with a 121bhp electric motor, offer ranges of 139 or 72 miles respectively.
Batteries are slotted under the floor between the front and rear axles, while the electric motor lives where the engine used to be.
That means the Movano-e offers the same volume of space as the diesel version, as well as a maximum payload of 2,100kg.
If electric isn't for you, then the new Movano comes with a choice of diesels, ranging from 118bhp to 163bhp. These have a six-speed manual gearbox.
There is a typically wide range of layouts - three or seven seats, panel van and crew cab, and so on.
Being a modern van means the Movano is loaded with safety gadgetry, including forward collision alert, lane departure warning and trailer merge assist.
