APART from a Land Rover, off-roaders don't come much more authentic than a proper Jeep, writes William Scholes.

They don't come older than Jeep. The iconic brand is marking its 80th anniversary this year, and part of the celebrations include this car, the Wrangler 1941.

There are only 41 earmarked for the UK market, so if you want one you better move fast.

Priced from £58,050, the Wrangler 1941 is a Wrangler Rubicon that has been treated to a shopping trip at the Jeep accessories shop. It gains a two-inch suspension lift kit - as if it's not high enough already... - black door sill guards, splash guards, heavy duty mats, beefed up rear underbody protection and wheelarch extensions. A distinctive bonnet decal is the finishing touch.

It comes only in four-door guise with a 2.2-litre diesel engine.
