The top-of-the-range engine is a 1.6-litre petrol with 195bhp and a seven-speed double-clutch automatic gearbox. It can be had with either front- or four-wheel-drive.

A 48 volt mild-hybrid system can be had with the 134bhp 1.6-litre diesel - this engine can be had with a six-speed manual gearbox or the double-clutch auto and front- or four-wheel-drive.

The 48 volt mild-hybrid system can also be fitted to the 118bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine.

There is also a petrol-electric hybrid, with a combined output of 139bhp.

The pure electric Kona will also gain the new look and equipment of the rest of the range.
