:: GETTING your digital SLR’s sensor cleaned every so often helps to preserve image quality by removing particles that sneak into your camera when you change lenses – but having it done professionally can be expensive. Thankfully Calumet offers a free service (although a charity donation is appreciated) once or twice a year during its open-day promotions, the next of which takes place in Belfast on May 19 between 10am and 4pm. Each customer can have only one sensor cleaned. Your camera battery must be fully charged and you might have to wait quite a while because this promotion is always popular. Why? Because cleaning normally costs at least £36 and the same-day service normally costs an additional £15. The store is on Boucher Road, close to the Tates Avenue roundabout. :: Buy a BBC series to keep (via download or streaming) from https://store.bbc.com/ by 11.59pm this Wednesday and you can use consumer website www.moneysavingexpert.com’s code MSE55 to get 55 per cent off. BBC Store differs from iPlayer in that you can keep programmes for longer than 30 days. The code can be used only once, for a single episode or series. It takes the full series of The Night Manager down from £9.99 to £4.49, for example (about half what the DVD version would cost).

:: Fancy 50p off your Starbucks coffee? Bring your own reusable cup to claim the discount, which increased from 25p this month. Find out more under ‘bring your own’ at http://www.starbucks.co.uk/responsibility/environment/recycling.

:: A reminder for anyone who has Tesco Clubcard vouchers to spend – hold off until next month’s boost promotion, when your points will be worth double their usual value if redeemed in certain departments. It will run from May 16 until June 26. Thanks to www.moneysavingexpert.com for the heads-up.
