St Mary’s Primary School Rathlin Island leads the way with a litter pick

The children of St Mary’s Primary School on Rathlin Island are leading the way with litter control in the Causeway Coast and Glens council area.

The pupils took part in a litter pick along the island's beach to launch the council's LitterSmart campaign.

Community groups, schools and other organisations across the council are being encouraged to do their bit for the environment too.

The next community litter pick will be in Anderson Park, Coleraine, led by young people from Coleraine Youth Council.

If you would like to organise a litter pick or find out more information contact the Environmental Resource Team on 2766 0248 or email recycle@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk

Litter pickers, bags and high visible vests will be provided and all bags of rubbish collected afterwards.
