HEAD to Florence Court, Co Fermanagh today to enjoy some tips and tastings in the kitchen garden. The National Trust is celebrating Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink 2016 with some farm-to-table demonstrations from their kitchen gardener, David Corscadden, and chef John Roche.

Demonstrations are at 12 noon, 1.30pm and 3pm when Mr Corscadden will be giving advice on growing your own vegetables and sharing his expertise from the kitchen garden at Florence Court. Chef Roche will be giving his tips on using the ingredients and providing culinary creations to taste using the fresh produce.

A volunteer project, under the supervision of Mr Corscadden, to restore the garden to its 1930s arrangement is under way and the past few years have seen various fruits and vegetables cultivated which are sold in the National Trust Visitor Centre as they’re harvested throughout the year.

Spring is the start of the harvesting season, with plenty of herbs, rhubarb, early salad leaves and wild garlic that Chef Roche will be turning into tasty treats to try.
