Spare a thought for unlucky-in-love Leonardo diCaprio as he emerges, blinking in the weak light of dawn 2023. Single again and looking for someone less than half his age with whom to share life experiences, box sets and nights in the club that end at 11pm because it’s impossible to get a taxi in town any later, we can but wish him the best for the year ahead.
Already there is hope for he has been sighted a number of times with 23-year-old model Victoria Lamas, whose father is actor Lorenzo Lamas of Falcon Crest fame.
Those sightings could dry up because Lorenzo has proven to be a loose lipped liability. The New York Post has enjoyed several conversations with him, each one hammering a nail into the coffin of his daughter’s whatever-it-is-ship with Leo.
Initially Lorenzo said his daughter was “smitten” and had told him all about the relationship in a Christmas Eve phone call.
“I know she likes him very much. I think they met last month. I’m not sure of the circumstances, but that’s what she told me.”
Then Lorenzo went into full dad-mode.
“I told her to treat the relationship like a holiday — just enjoy it as much as you can for as long as it lasts. And if it lasts for more than a typical holiday, great. But if not, then just guard your heart, you know? Because she’s very young.”
Lorenzo left out “and Leo’s 48”.
“Anyway, I’m excited for her. I know that it’s been a while since she’s had a serious relationship … She’s got a big heart and she tends to give it freely.”
Fifteen minutes later he rang the New York Post back because his daughter “just wants to keep everything private” and had obviously read him the riot act.

Lorenzo told the NY Post he had misinterpreted the situation and the pair are “friends… not in a serious relationship… and I just want that to be clear”.
“They were seen one time in West Hollywood at a club,” he added by way of very specific clarification. “I mean, that is not dating.”
Asked if Victoria was still “very smitten” he momentarily veered off script.
“Yeah, smitten, but they’re not dating. She’s fond of him, obviously, but they’re not dating, and she does not want that out there because that would be really bad. It’d be embarrassing for her if he should happen to read something that said that they’re dating and they’re not.”
But are they dating Lorenzo?
RSPCA to the rescue
EVERY January the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) details the weirdest and most wonderful rescues it has carried out the previous year.
Among the 2022 rescues was a fox cub that had gotten its head trapped in the central hole of an old wheel stored in a London shed. The RSPCA reckoned the cub had been trapped for several days without food and water and when the homeowners found it, the little mite’s sister was still by his side. The charity freed the cub and took both into care.
Another rescue saw firefighters climb down into a 25-feet deep icehouse to retrieve a hedgehog that had fallen in.
So now you know who to call if you find a frog in your bananas, a hedgehog in your drainpipe or a creature in distress.
Kim Kardashian's staff uniform
Kim Kardashian - she of the uber-minimalist home aesthetic - has confirmed that the people who work there have a dress code.
Kim was on the IRL podcast with Angie Martinez and said she gives new staff a “handbook” full of fun regulations.
“It’s not like, ‘hey, this is, like, your uniform’. It’s just colour palettes,” she explained, adding that they can wear "greys, heather gray, black, navy, white, cream, khaki... I mean, we can stick with all neutrals. Not a lot of color blocking”.
"My house is so zen, so I asked how everyone felt about it and everyone actually said, 'That would make our life so easy' and once everyone was on board and thought it would be easier for them, I was like, 'Yes, let's do this.' "
