Classic Motor Show back and bigger than ever for 2022

THE Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will return to Birmingham's NEC this winter.

Running from Friday November 11 until Sunday November 13, the annual show is a Mecca for fans of classic cars and bikes, featuring everything from British and European classics and retro hot hatches to vintage American muscle cars and heritage racing vehicles.

Indeed, this year's Classic Motor Show promises over 3,000 vehicles and over 600 exhibitors.

Events wise, the Practical Classics team will once again be doing a Practical Classics Practical Challenge on the Discovery+ Live stage: this year, the magazine team will mark 50 years of the Morris Marina by attempting to rebuild one that hasn't run in 30 years in just three days. What could possibly go wrong?

Fans of classic motoring-themed television will be in their element, again thanks to the involvement of Discovery+: the Live Stage will be hosted by the Wheeler Dealer himself, Mike Brewer, who will be inviting industry insiders to discuss the latest classics related trends and must-have products for restorations, along with conducting one-on-one interviews and enabling plenty of drooling over some spectacular guest cars.

You can also shop for elusive restoration pieces for you own classic project(s) at the Autojumble and Trader Village, which offers a veritable treasure trove of tools and parts for anyone maintaining and/or restoring a classic car, along with all the usual motor-related books, paintings, badges and more.

Visitors across the three days of the show will be asked to help decide the winner of the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership competition, choosing their favourite classic restoration story from a selection of contenders.

And, if you fancy driving home in your very own new classic, the Classic Motor Show is also a pretty good showroom: there are always a wealth of marques for sale at variety of price levels on the show floor itself as well as and going under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions.

Show director Lee Masters, says: "The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show is the biggest and best classic car show in the UK and the ultimate season finale for any classic car, bike lover and owner.

"We can't wait to welcome visitors back to the Birmingham NEC and provide them with a show experience like no other."

The show will offer car fans the chance to take a spin in an exotic classic and raise money for a good cause: whether you fancy riding shotgun in a Ferrari or want to enjoy a lap of luxury in a Lamborghini, Sporting Bears Dream Rides will offer patrons the chance to experience a dream car 'in the metal' as a passenger while also doing their bit for charity.

Advance tickets for the Classic Motor Show can be purchased online before midnight on Thursday November 10 via necclassicmotorshow.com, where you will also find full up-to-date event and ticketing information. On-the-door tickets will be limited and subject to availability.
