CINEMAGIC have announced plans to produce a new short film and are searching for young people interested in a career in the movie industry to become part of the crew.

The film will be made by teenagers under the guidance of industry professionals. Participants, aged 16-19, will have a chance to develop their talents and earn their credit on the local production being made in Northern Ireland this month and next.

Successful applicants to the Cinemagic Belfast Short Film Academy will participate in a compulsory programme of intensive and practical training through masterclasses and workshops led by the professional mentors.

"We are looking for young people from all backgrounds to come together and work on a common goal and illustrate what can be achieved working as a team on this innovative opportunity," says Joan Burney Keatings, Cinemagic chief executive.
